Crop, Layouts etc..

I was at the fabby Warrington crop on Sunday. I love this crop so much, and there is always a scrum to get on the list for the following month - it is so worth the effort. Sarah and Lianne put so much effort into each crop, and it shows. We're all served drinks and goodies during the morning. Lunch is made for us, and then we get more drinks and pastries etc during the afternoon. No worrying about anything. We're just expected to scrap and enjoy ourselves, which we do by the bucket load. Perfect day eh ?!!

I can't remember all the papers etc... that I used on the above layouts, but some are from the new 3 Bugs ranges, and some are the new Pink Paislee papers together with embellishments from the same ranges - all from the fabby Sarahscards.
The adorable CathyC very kindly gave me some photos of her equally adorable granchildren (again) to scrap. Don't you think Olivia is sooooooooo photogenic ??
Talking of stash - I've been having a sort out. I'm starting a craft group at the local Community Centre near where I work, and decided I'd have a good sort out to help get us started, as we are literally trying to start the group with zero stash.
(Incidentally, if anyone has any stash of any description from papers to peel-offs, I will gratefully take it off your hands ....... please email me or PM me via UKS/SCS )
Anyway, it really got me thinking ... how do people use all their stash. If you buy a kit, do you just do one or two layouts and then put the kit away ? OR, do you use the whole kit straight away ? I've decided to challenge myself and use my kits to make layouts (maybe 2 or 3), then make cards with the leftovers ... and then, if there is anything left, to make ATCs or inchies until the whole lot has gone ! Does anyone else do this ?
OR - how about when you buy a new range of papers, but you have strips or whole sheets left that weren't quite right ... what about swapping with someone else to try something different ? Would it work ? These are just random thoughts, but I wonder if it could work with small groups .....

*goes off wondering and muttering*

Super LOs Cal...I love all day crops/workshops too, wish there were more near me.

On the stash front, I don't buy many kits other than class kits but if there is stuff left that I don't want/need I pass to my local Brownies.

Love that first see thru LO Cal... its gorgeous!
I'm not a kit person, the few I have bought I hated to break into, everything looked so pretty! LOL

Fantastic LOs Cal, esp like how you've used a transparent background with a smattering of collage. Very modern looking.

As for stash use, I've never bought a kit but when I buy papers, I first organise them into colours rather than brands or themes. The smaller offcuts then go into another box of folders again by colour which I look in when I need smaller pieces for LOs or cards (I always go to scraps box first before looking in my 12x12 pile). Small scraps also get used up with die cutting too.

Fabulous pages once again Scrappin' Queen Cal! I wish all your readers could see these pages in real life, although they're gorgeous here they're even better to touch!
Thanx hun, they were loved by mummy & daddy as usual! see you soon :)

Oh, about the kits, I do maybe 2 or 3 pages/projects & then if I fancy do some cards with the rest, if not then I just put aside in my scrap box - which needs sorting BTW!!:(

Oh was that LO with the baby and the hearts yours - saw it somewhere and never remembered to comment on it - it is brilliant and the white swirl with the bird is very pretty - I wonder where you got that from??
As to kits - I don't often buy them as I like to mix and match on my own.

The lace cardstock on that first layout is absolutely wonderful!

I am trying really hard to use up my scraps of papers - I feel so guilty when I have lots of unused stuff hanging around. The trouble is, I hate making cards! I am trying though... So I'll be interested in what other people do.

I LOOOOOOVE that lace cardstock LO, Cal - is it on acetate? It's set me thinking, but how would I put it in an album? ... goes off muttering about folks who inspire but then cause complications.....

Kits? Used to get the Scrapmagic ones, with lots of cardstock plus extras, and found I was just hoarding them, so split them up. With Sarah's I'm still using up the January one and will do so downt to the last scrap 'cause I love it so much, have only done one LO with Feb, but will do anothe couple and then split it, I think.
